Band Background
Chapter's End started in 2000 as a solo project of Mike Ullrich. After several bands that didn't pan out, he decided to take all of his material and put together on an album of his own. He met David Moore, who would become a member of the original Chapter's End, and decided to form a full band of that name. By 2002, Chapter's End was making a name for themselves playing various venues in the Portland area. In March 2003, they got a call to play the Roseland Theater, one of Portland's premier venues. At that show, they met a band called Abrasion. Abrasion was formed in 2001 by Aaron Snider, Ryan Snider, and Dan Barton. They were an up and coming band, building a name for themselves over the next two years. They played with Chapter's End at the Roseland, and the bands established a friendship. Over the next few months, both bands began experiencing difficulties within the ranks. Abrasion decided to part ways with their vocalist and bass player. At the same time, Chapter's End parted with their drummer and guitarist. In October 2003, Mike and Dan raised the idea of combining the bands. All members were reluctant, given the differences in styles that each band had. After much discussion, they got together just to see what would happen. It was a shock to everybody involved. Both bands were able to fit together their music styles and personalities flawlessly. The first day they played together, they knew they had something great. They decided to join together under the Chapter's End name and become the new force in the Portland music scene. Chapter's End blends melodic vocals with the heavy sounds of modern metal. They are known for their versatilty and ability to blow people away with their energetic stage presence. Expect them to be a factor for years to come.
